Last Saturday, Jan.5, one magazine, ’Kazi (Rudder)’, was published. This magazine is for the sailing fan. The article that I wanted to read was about my brother’s race in Ireland. My brother Koji went to an Irish sailboat race and won fortunately. He got first prize in that race, pressing in past native Irish sailors. As I told you once, Koji is a retired pilot of JAL and he was flying Jumbo-jets when he was active in his company. He is a veteran pilot and worked hard until his retirement and also he is always been fond of sailing in his leisure time. He loves sports whether sea or sky, river or lake if there are big thrills. He sails a catamaran class boat in Kamakura and he can sail at quite a high speed. He loves speed racing in any sport and after retirement, he was eager to fry paragliding and last year he went to Dolomiti, Italy to do it in the Alps sky. At that time, he had an accident of dropping from the sky and was taken to a hospital by ambulance. It was his failure but this time 3 months after that accident, he won the race of the sea. I was wondering how he won the race and also wondered about his skill of sailing.
This year’s dream, or resolution, of what I want to do in 2013 is a sailing tour to Kyushu with my friend Matsuura, who has a long career of almost 40 years and he is a captain and owner of his sailing boat ‘Sippo’, and with Koji,I want to sail on the Setonaikai-sea. To sail from Nishinomiya harbor to Goto-retto (archipelago) near Nagasaki, Kyushu, will take about one week . It must be hard sailing but quite big fun. We need high technique and a tough mind. Also we need a good condition of health. I hope Koji will help lots with his skill and it will be a quite nice big tour for me. I am dreaming of every place we will pass through the Setonaikai sea. That is my great dream or idea for this year. It's a great adventure for me in 2013.
Dan's comment : "Sounds fantastic! I hope it happens! "
