No.25 My 3 Memories of This 2013 Hot Summer. Sep/3/2013
This summer, we had much hard rain and severe heat all over Japan, so I myself could not go far for travel or play outside but I experienced 3 memorable matters.
One is that I completed making my home page on my computer. I have been making my private blog with much news about what I am experiencing. It seems like writing essays. Of course my teacher Dan helped greatly by correcting my sentences. Thanks a lot.
The 2nd thing is a health matter. My physical condition deteriorated from the hot weather of June. My ulcerative colitis got bad, so I consulted my doctor and he decided on surgery for the polyps which were found 2 years ago and also wanted to give me an endoscopy examination again after about 2 years. I was hospitalized from the 9th of August to the 11th. As a result, the condition of my colitis got a little bad and he decided to treat it by adding new drugs. The condition of the large intestine seems to have become a little better, but the condition of the rectum seems to be worse this time. Polyps found previously had disappeared and new polyps were found in the rectum. After 3 days, I was discharged from the hospital and I decided to continue the treatment and pay attention to my diet in the future.
The third thing is that I went to a great exhibition, the “Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute” museum exhibition at Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art. ‘Clark Museum’ stands in Williamstown, Massachusetts, America . Masterpieces by French painters such as Edouard Manet, Claude Monet and Auguste Renoir were included in the ‘Clark Collection Exhibition’ at the museum. Those painters were French Impressionists and their works contain images of great depth, like the three-dimensional images of today allow a totally amazing perception of ‘light’. Sterling, the founder of the ‘Clark Museum’, inherited the huge legacy of his grandfather who was the founder of the ‘Singer Sewing Machine’, and he collected the great aesthetics in conjunction with his wife Francine in France. I could enjoy great paintings to my heart’s content at that exhibition. By the way, my mother used a ‘Singer sewing machine’ in her young days.
I had other things happen in this hot summer but these 3 affairs were the most impressive this summertime.
