No.30　　　　　　　　　　My Computer Trouble　　　　　　　　 10/8/2013

　The other morning, my computer didn’t start up when I turned it on. After I had left my company, the word processor which I had been using a long time became obsolete, so I bought a computer for when I want to write sentences, such as documents. It was the fall of 2000. Although I had been using a computer to process things such as slips in the company until then, I did not ever use a computer for personal errands in earnest.  Because operation was very difficult, I received early education and also went to P.C. school. Then, I was attracted to my PC, I was nothing if not a computer geek ( オタク), or "human mouse potato ( to spend in front of the computer for a long time). Like they say, I got addicted to the computer. I started a personal computer lesson from my brother who is a pilot of jet planes and he was good at operating a PC. He recommended a Macintosh, by Apple computer, and he taught me in the beginning. For 13 years, I met with a variety of computer trouble, and I gradually progressed up to now. In the year 2010, three years ago, I expanded to a Windows laptop as a backup for the Mac and I can use it a little better with its Windows O.S. after some self-training. I have been using Apple mainly, and Windows has been secondary. Although almost all e-mail, files, photos and music are in the Mac, I have been putting some things in the Windows PC, such as New Year's card addresses, I have to use wireless LAN for Windows but one day, the Windows PC did not start up at all. Out of necessity, I talked to the electric shop where I bought it. They informed me“ Let's replace the hard disk free of charge because it is during the warranty period. You need to initialize初期化 your hard disc.” Free is good, but all my data contained in it was lost and that was a big shock. My address book, including New Year's card addresses was lost! I'm sorry, but I it decided to get it fixed out of necessity. That repair was over the other day and after further waiting, my personal computer came back to me with a replaced, initialized hard disk.

　After installing the necessary software, now I have to put the 200 addresses of my friends in my address book again. Working on New Year's cards at the end of the year will begin soon. It's going to be a very busy October.
