No.34 Autumn Festival of My Town 11/5/2013
秋祭り
On October 27, Sunday, the autumn festival of my town was held. From the preparation to the end I was very busy because for the past two years, I've been the vice-chairman of the residents' association. Inspection of ulcerative enteritis of hemorrhoids in Kobe Red Cross Hospital of the 7th October, my GPT values in the liver and the number of GOT had become remarkably high so the docter required that I rest. During the autumn festival week I was forced to recuperate at home. Finally, I had a hard time because my physical condition was fairly bad yet, but I was able to work on the finishing touches that still came after three months’ preparation.
Our residents' association is a collection of about 1,000 people and 400 blocks
( houses ) containal within the three mansion buildings. Our autumn festival is in its eighth year. Children are very much looking forward to it. I once again undertook the position of coordinator of entertainment. Last year, we had to prepare from 8 in the morning and we presented 4 entertainment, events on that day. There was a opening ceremony at 11 am and soon there was a magic show on stage. After the magic show puppetry began and after that paper airplane flying competition by children was held. Lastly, a brassband concert by junior high school students of this area closed the curtain. Children and adults enjoyed a lot of stands lined around the square, including Yakisoba( fried noodles ), oden, popcorn, mini steak,
kushikatsu ( skewers ) and drinks. Also, we were very busy all day with games, such as target practice, quoits, goldfish salvation and so on. On the previous day, Saturday, we had been worried about typhoons No. 28 and No. 27 approaching on Sunday, but on Sunday, autumn festival day, it was fine and clear and everyone enjoyed it a lot. I was in charge of the stage and wrote the script for the event, but was busy with the command too. As my condition of the liver is not so good, I was very tired but I was very happy and satisfied because through every one’s efforts we successfully fulfilled our duty. The acts were somewhat immature and shouldn’t be compared with when I was working in the TV company. Although I think there is a difference between professionals and amateurs, these acts were good, too.
Please come to my town and enjoy it next year, won’t you?
